MMK Girls Fall In Regional
The Mary M. Knight girls’ basketball team couldn’t keep up with Tulalip Heritage Saturday in the Class 1B Girls’ Basketball Regional at Tumwater High School. The Owls fell to the Hawks 68 to 42. The girls from Matlock were unable to recover from a slow start as Heritage slowly inched away in the first half. The second half saw the Hawks take full control.
Tulalip Heritage was led by Adiya Jones who scored 19 points. Kaela Tyler added 17. Katia Brown chipped in 16 – hitting 8 for 8 from the free throw line. And Aliya Jones had 10. For Mary M. Knight in the loss, Miranda Sowle had 12 and Carlie Adsero added 10. The Hawks head to Spokane for the State Tournament while the Owl season ends. The MMK girls finish with a 15-and-5 record and the Southwest District 4 Championship.
