Liberty Over Storm
Cappie Pondexter scored 23 points to help the New York Liberty beat the Seattle Storm 67-62 on Friday night for their first road win of the season. Kara Braxton added a career-high 14 rebounds and eight points for New York (5-4), which was 0-3 on the road.
The Liberty also snapped an eight-game losing streak at Seattle, with their first road win against the Storm since 2002. Temeka Johnson had a season-high 22 points to lead Seattle (4-5), which lost its second straight. Camille Little added 12 points and Tanisha Wright had 10.
