The Million Second Quiz will emanate live from an hourglass-shaped structure in New York City, where contestants will compete in a trivia contest virtually non-stop for 24 hours a day.

The contestants are not only battling for a cash prize worth at least $2 million, but they're also competing for the right to remain in the game.  That's because viewers are encouraged to play along, for the chance to win a spot on the primetime show.

As you might have guessed from the title of the show, the game will last a total of one million seconds.  The Million Second Quiz premieres Monday at 8 p.m. Eastern time.

The finale is scheduled for Thursday, Sept. 19.
