Seahawks Roster Moves Sep. 11
Renton, Wash. - The Seattle Seahawks have signed tight end Kellen Davis and released linebacker Allen Bradford, the club announced this afternoon. The club also announced that guard Ryan Seymour and linebacker Ty Powell were signed to the team's practice squad. To make room for Seymour and Powell , guard/center Jared Smith and defensive tackle Michael Brooks were released from the practice squad.
Davis was originally drafted by Chicago with the 23rd pick of the fifth round (158th overall) in the 2008 NFL Draft out of Michigan State University. He spent the past five seasons with the Bears, playing in all 80 games with 35 starts. Davis has recorded 47 receptions for 529 yards and 11 touchdowns in his career. He was released by Chicago on March 13, 2013. He then signed with Cleveland on March 22 but was released on September 1.
Bradford was picked up off of waivers (Tampa Bay) by Seattle on October 14, 2011 and spent the majority of the 2011 and 2012 seasons on the Seahawks practice squad before being added to the active roster on December 28, 2012.
Seymour was drafted by Seattle in the seventh round (220th overall) of the 2013 NFL Draft. He was released on August 31 as part of the final roster cut-down and was signed to the practice squad on September 2 and was released on September 5.
Powell was also drafted by Seattle in the seventh round (231st overall) of the 2013 NFL Draft. He was released on August 31 as part of the final roster cut-down and was signed to the practice squad on September 2 and was released on September 4.
