Skokomish Flood Control Zone (FCZD) Advisory Committee
Mason County is seeking two applicants that reside or own property within the Skokomish Flood Control Zone District to serve on a five-member Advisory Committee. Three members were appointed during the FCZD meeting held October 1, 2013. The purpose of the Advisory Committee is to develop funding and boundary recommendations for the Skokomish FCZD Board of Supervisors by March 1, 2014 and specifically whether to:
- revise the FCZD boundary to remove Lake Cushman platted lots; or
- abolish the FCZD then re-establish a boundary that excludes Lake Cushman platted lots.
It is anticipated that Advisory Committee members will attend a total of 5 - 6 meetings supported by Mason County Public Works staff. Members should represent each of five Skokomish watershed sub-basins depicted in the map below, varying stakeholder perspectives and work constructively together.
Applications to serve on the Skokomish FCZD Advisory Committee will be accepted until November 8, 2013, and should be submitted to Mason County Commissioners, 411 North 5th Street, Shelton, WA 98584. For an application, please contact the Commissioners’ office at 427-9670 ext. 419 or visit the website at www.co.mason.wa.us.
