The Shelton Highclimbers girls opened their Narrows League 3-A season last night with a convincing 57-43 home win over the Mount Tahoma Thunderbirds. The Highclimbers jumped out to an early 8-0 lead, and held off several rallies throughout the game before pulling away for good in the second half for the 14 point win.
The high scorer for Shelton was Jordan Leach with 16 points, 12 of which came from three point shots. Cheyenne Overlin added 11 for the ‘Climbers. The high scorer for Mount Tahoma was Rejie Wright with 18 points.
The Shelton girls now have a 1-0 league record, and are 2-3 on the season. Mount Tahoma has a 1-1 league mark and is also 2-3 on the season. The Climber’s next game is a league contest at Wilson on Friday.
