Portland's Aldridge, Afflalo To Sit Out Vs. Thunder

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) - LaMarcus Aldridge and Arron Afflalo have been ruled out for Portland's game at Oklahoma City. Aldridge, an All-Star forward who averages a team-best 23.5 points and 10.3 rebounds, will miss his second straight game with a left foot sprain. Afflalo, who has a strained right shoulder, also will miss his second straight game. Afflalo has started 19 of 25 games since coming over in a February trade with Denver. He is averaging 10.6 points with the Trail Blazers.

Mariners Over Athletics 8-7

Mariners ace Felix Hernandez left after five innings as a precaution due to tightness in his right quadriceps. Seattle took a 7-3 lead into the ninth before Oakland rallied against closer Fernando Rodney.

Sounders Lose To LA Galaxy 1-0

Sounders logoCARSON, Calif. (AP) - Alan Gordon scored midway through the first half and the Los Angeles Galaxy held off the Seattle Sounders 1-0 on Sunday to snap a two-game scoreless stretch. In the 23rd minute, Omar Gonzalez headed a free kick toward the far post and an unmarked Gordon headed it home in his 200th MLS appearance.

Western Washington Skiers Excited About Spring Snow

STEVENS PASS, Wash. (AP) - Skiers are enjoying some April snow in the Washington mountains. Stevens Pass reports 16 inches of snow fell over 24 hours and it opened some areas for skiing Sunday. Crystal Mountain and White Pass Ski Area are also reporting fresh snow. The resorts plan to close for the season in a few days.
