Kent Signs 4 Players At Washington St.

CouglogoNew Washington State basketball coach Ernie Kent has signed four players in his first recruiting class with the Cougars. Kent on Wednesday signed Robert Franks, a 6-foot-7 forward from Vancouver, Wash., who is entering his senior season at Evergreen High School. Kent also signed Derrien King, a 6-foot-7 forward who is entering his first season at Santa Monica Community College in California after spending a year at Middlebrooks Academy in Los Angeles.

Seattle's Miller Headed To Injured Reserve

zachmillerThe Seattle Seahawks are placing tight end Zach Miller on injured reserve after he struggled in returning from ankle surgery. Seattle coach Pete Carroll said Wednesday that Miller will need a second surgery to get the problems in ankle corrected. Miller underwent surgery during Seattle's bye week after its Week 3 victory over Denver. The hope was that Miller would only miss a few games, but his recovery went longer than planned.

Mebane Out For The Season

mebane94Defensive tackle Brandon Mebane will miss the rest of the season for the Seattle Seahawks after being placed on injured reserve following a hamstring injury in a win over the New York Giants. Fox Sports first reported that Mebane suffered a torn hamstring. Seattle coach Pete Carroll said Monday that Mebane's injury was really "legit" but the team was waiting for additional test results.

Blazers Rally To Beat Hornets 102-100

Damian Lillard had 29 points and the Trail Blazers trailed by as many as 23 points in the first half before rallying in the fourth quarter to beat the Charlotte Hornets 102-100 on Tuesday night. Charlotte's Gary Neal made a layup at the final buzzer that would have sent the game into overtime, but the refs reversed the call after a review. LaMarcus Aldridge added 25 points and 14 rebounds for the Blazers, who have won four of their last five games and improved to 5-1 at the Moda Center. Sounders logo The Seattle Sounders advanced to the MLS Cup Western Conference finals for the second time in franchise history despite playing to a 0-0 draw with FC Dallas in the second leg of the conference semifinals on Monday night. The two-leg series finished tied 1-1 on aggregate but Seattle moved on thanks to its road goal in the first game in Dallas. Road goals were implemented as a tiebreaker this year.
