The game was an exhibition for Corban, an NAIA school, but counted toward Oregon State's record. The Beavers used a considerable size advantage to outrebound the Warriors 37-24. Oregon State also shot 57 percent from the floor, compared to 39.5 percent for Corban. Payton is the son of former Oregon State All-American Gary Payton, who was inducted into the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame in 2013. The junior-college transfer helped give the Beavers an early lead. Payton had scored half of Oregon State's points when he tipped in a rebound at the 12:44 mark, putting the Beavers ahead 20-11. Blazers G Mccollum Out With Fractured FingerPortland Trail Blazers guard CJ McCollum fractured his right index finger during Monday night's victory over the New Orleans Pelicans. The Blazers did not say when McCollum was expected to return, but he will be reevaluated in four weeks. McCollum broke his finger when he grabbed an offensive rebound and was fouled by Eric Gordon in the fourth quarter. Domantas Sabonis added 13 points for Gonzaga (2-0) whose defense especially stymied the Mustangs in the second half. Ben Moore scored 11 points and Nic Moore 10 for SMU (1-1), which is in its third season under Hall of Fame coach Larry Brown.
TCU Routs Washington State 81-54
Kyan Anderson led TCU with 16 points, six assists and four steals in 23 minutes as the Horned Frogs beat Washington State 81-54 Monday night. TCU (2-0) started the game shooting 7 of 9 from the floor, and Brandon Parrish's 3-pointer gave the Frogs a 17-2 lead less than five minutes into the game. Meanwhile, Washington State (0-2) didn't score its first field goal until Josh Hawkinson's layup with 15:50 to play.
