MMK Girls Fall In Regional

marymknightbbThe Mary M. Knight girls’ basketball team couldn’t keep up with Tulalip Heritage Saturday in the Class 1B Girls’ Basketball Regional at Tumwater High School. The Owls fell to the Hawks 68 to 42. The girls from Matlock were unable to recover from a slow start as Heritage slowly inched away in the first half. The second half saw the Hawks take full control.

Cano's cousin present at Mariners camp

Sports Briefs Feb. 26

sports2PEORIA, Ariz. (AP) - Seattle Mariners third base coach John Stearns will be out for the next four to six weeks after undergoing surgery. Manager Lloyd McClendon said Stearns had successful surgery at Arrowhead Hospital in Peoria on Monday. McClendon said the team is still discussing internal options for filling in for Stearns while he is recovering.

MMK Girls Win First District Championship

marymknightbbThe Mary M. Knight girls’ basketball team won its first District Championship Saturday beating Taholah in overtime 65 to 62 to take the Class 1B Southwest District 4 Trophy. The Owls and the Chitwhins battled the entire game. The first half saw Taholah up 8 points but the girls from Matlock fought back and pulled within 2 at half.
