Orioles beat Mariners 11-8

marinersbaseballChris Davis hit his major league-leading 40th home run and Nate McLouth contributed his first career grand slam to a display that carried the Orioles past the Mariners 11-8 Friday night. Ryan Flaherty also homered and had a career-high three hits for the Orioles, who never trailed but had to withstand four homers by Seattle.

Rice Returns To Seattle

riceSidney Rice has returned to Seattle after the Seahawks wide receiver sought treatment for a sore knee in Switzerland. Rice was mostly a spectator on Friday as the Seahawks held a scrimmage while preparing for their preseason opener next Thursday at San Diego. Rice caught a few passes on the side and coach Pete Carroll said he is expected to return to practice on Sunday.

Red Sox Beat Mariners 8-7

One night after winning in 15 innings for their major league-leading 10th walkoff victory, the Red Sox did it again to open a one-game lead in the AL East over the idle Tampa Bay Rays.
